Tor Bookings, hosting our first show in Todmorden!

I am so pleased to announce that Jake and I are joining forces and getting into the gig hosting trade where we live in Todmorden, West Yorkshire. We’re calling the event series ‘Tor Bookings’ to match Jake’s label Tor Press and because I do like a good pun.

We are fortunate enough to have access to the keys to The Unitarian Church where we will be hosting the shows. Classic camera phone quality photo here shows you how massive this place is… you can see the church from the train station, easy to find. Image

…and for our first show we have called upon old and new friends!

Human Combustion Engine (aka Ashtray Navigations) – Leeds

HCE is the electronic music output of psychedelic rock legends Ashtray Navigation. Expect wild synths, space rock expressions and sonic conversation from this great duo.

Vile Plumage – Stoke on Trent

We consider this their ‘art project’ and every performance is different. Last time we saw them play they dished out cassette tape weird sounds and various types of ‘other’ noises. Love it all.

Daniel Weaver – Todmorden

Daniel is a pro multi-instrumentalist and we’re thrilled to have him play loud experiments on his electric guitar. He intends to work with the church’s acoustics to create a big blanket of sound for us all to snuggle under.

This event starts at 6pm and will finish at 9pm at the latest. There is an after party at a secret location in Hebden Bridge hosted by the one and only Was Ist Das? We’ll tell you where at the show.

Food provided by Incredible Edible Todmorden will be available at the church so bring your empty stomachs.

All this for just £4.

  1. The Ceramic Hobs would love to play in a Todmorden church in the early evening if this goes well and you want to put another on.
